This is the boat and deal you have been waiting for.  This is a vintage 1997 model, well-loved, garage kept.  This is the same boat that is used on many worldwide expeditions, and is with a British design and ocean cockpit favored by big water and rolling aficionados.  The boat was purchased by me in 2007, and although I adore the boat, I am not a great roller and thus do not favor the ocean cockpit (this kayak does not have a keyhole cockpit).  This is a personal preference, as many adept kayakers adore the OC.  This auction is for the kayak only, no accessories (such as the kayak cart in the picture--sorry, I need that for my other yaks). The boat has serial number indicating 1997 build, which is close to the final year of the original Nordkapp forms.  This is like a vintage Corvette, as it is fast and has great response.  The HM stands for "hull modified", which means that Valley integrated the skeg in the hull (see pictures) as requested by expedition sea kayakers--it tracks like a dream in all conditons.  With edging, it turns well.  It has plenty of room for camping and performs very well when laden with gear.   It has never been repaired in any fashion, and is all original.  It includes a Henderson deck pump (which I have never used, personally), a built-in compass.  It has a Valley day hatch and two main hatches, and I bought brand new Valley hatch covers (all three) in 2007 for it.  The color is hard to see online, but is a very faint light green hull and deck.  Sort of like the glow-in-the-dark Superballs we'd play with as children.  This is a special Valley Sea Kayak only color. The boat is carbon Kevlar!  It has the classic herringbone weave of carbon Kevlar in the hull and in the deck.  This is called the Ultra layup at Valley and is a significant upgrade in cost.  Valley makes fiberglass boats, then the next step up is the Premium layup, which is carbon Kevlar hull only with fiberglass top deck, and finally the ultimate and most expensive option is the carbon Kevlar deck and hull, the Ultra, which is this kayak! Please note that this kayak has a blue pad on the traditional Valley black fiberglass seat (not the cheap plastic seat they use on all current Valley boats).  The bulkhead is right at the back of the cockpit and is ready for any mods you may have in mind, such as minicelling a seat back instead of the backband, if you prefer.
