Custom hand made' Description You are bidding on a custom hand made 12 degree bent shaft canoe paddle or a straight shaft model ( your choice ). The paddles for sale in this auction are all like the one in the middle of this picture. The overall lengths vary; from 48" to 50" to 52" and 54" and the blade is 8 1/2" wide by 20" long. The paddle is made of red and white cedar. The blade is covered both sides with woven fiberglass cloth and 2 coats of epoxy resin making the cloth invisible and a poured edge of clear epoxy around it for protection against rock damage, etc. Each paddle has 3 coats of marine spar varnish to prevent UV sun damage and finally it has a hand rubbed and polished coat of wax. Each paddle is a beautiful piece and weighs in at a mere 16oz to 25oz, depending on the model and length; but rest assured they are well made, strong and meant to be used.
