The flotation is excellent for the size, because of the shape - the shape gives maximum flotation because the width is where you need it, and not where you don't. These snowshoes are an incredible value and will last for years. Look closely at the riveted and laced construction of where the decking attaches to the frame and you'll see these were designed to be both lightweight and super durable. They are riveted in the main pressure areas, and laced in the rear to keep the weight down. The materials are first rate throughout, including the stainless steel crampons AND fittings, aircraft quality aluminum, and the copolymer decking. The bindings are of notable mention because the Wilderness Technology snowshoes all use a true-pivot binding. Unlike other top brands, these snowshoes do not rely on flexing a piece of Hypalon decking (thus absorbing your energy, and makes them prone to break.)
