Not until surf historian/author Mark Fragale spent over a year and a half researching the subject have the facts been presented. Dave Sweet was pouring, shaping, and retailing his own polyurethane surfboards years before anyone else in the business had figured out the foam mystery and nobody to this day has figured out Dave's high density custom shaped blank process.
