Description Vintage 1920s antique Leather Football helmet Spalding?    Fresh from a local estate is this early leather football helmet that is in as found condition. Not sure on the manufacturer or exact age but similiar looking to some Spalding helmets from the 1920's that I have seen. It has been painted over. Only marking is a stamped number in the back "6414"  but appears to have had a metal badge on the front as there are two rivet holes.  Measures approx. 9" high, 8" wide and has an inside circumfrence of approx 21". Would make for a great display in any antique football memorabilia collection.
