This item is 38 1/2" long and the shaft is both very tight to the head and also dead straight. It appears to be very playable as well but it is not being sold as such. You must make that determination yourself. The grip is in fabulous condition, and is leather with really nice tight whipping at the top and bottom and if not the original is certainly an older, very well done replacement. This club has NOT been used much at all as is evidenced by the very clean leading edge of the clubhead (just a couple very tiny nicks) and lack of rock or even bag dings and the like. I have not attempted to clean this club up like some recent RTJ's that were auctioned off as I do not like to do this and prefer the original look of a true antique golf club. As you collectors and hickory players already know Tom Stewart was a cleek maker of some renown and made some of the best and most solid hand forged clubheads of his era. The RTJ stamps stand for 'Robert Tyre Jones' (Bobby Jones) and were not used often due to some concerns from Mr. Jones himself.  The RTJ Stewart clubs are second only in desireability to the elusive FO/RTJ stamped clubs that are very scarce and hard to come by. I truly believe that this club would be a fine addition to anyones collection or perhaps playset. Good Luck.
