In 1945 the Atomic bomb destroyed the school he was attending. He returned to the US in 1949.In 1963 he started making billiard cues. His first to produce were based on Titlist banks. He also began using bird's-eye maple as his choice. He purchased his equipment from the retiring maker, Harvey Martin. To develop the hit of his cues he relied on players like Joe Bliss, WIllie Mosconi, and Jimmy Caras,He not only made great playing cues but his designs were unique as well through the use of fancy ring and slot work that included many dots but also dots with inlay of other dots. He uses only his 18 lathes and 3 panographs never would he even consider CNC equipment for his unique items that make him ranking in the top 20 of all makers see some web sites on more facts. His reputation has followed him through the years as he developed his own style of tips, and is credited as being the one who opened up the Japan cue market for other American makers who followed such as Schrager. In 2003 he presented one of custom pool cues to the Smithsonian Institute to display in the National Museum of American History. In 2007 he was inducted into the International Cuemakers Hall of Fame. I prefer Cashier's check, which may be sent to the owner, wait on PayPal as that also may be billed to you by that person if you wish that method. If you do not already have your winning bid plus shipping and handling in your PayPal account or with direct transfer of available funds, please make this transfer first and wait any necessary days for it to be cleared before making your payment. This method does not leave your payment pending with us not knowing why.I do not see a need for refund but if for any reason with any of these 3 like items, you are not satisfied please email promptly so we can correct any issues. No refund of shipping or handling costs. If item arrives damaged a claim will be filed immediately upon your notice to me.   On Oct-08-08 at 19:54:19 PDT, seller added the following information: windyhill Store
