Description This is a Seiko Scubamaster S23287 depth indicating dive watch/dive computer. The list price was set by Seiko at $1000.00 at least 10-years ago. Originally purchased about six years ago as a backup, it was worn about a dozen times (as a timepiece, briefly) and never has been used for diving. It is in excellent condition. The lithium battery was replaced by Seiko in mid-December 2007, the o-ring caseback gasket replaced, and the water resistance verified. They also were asked to check for operational defects at the time and did not report any (otherwise another billing would have occurred). A copy of the dated Coserv (Seiko service center name) receipt will be enclosed with the watch. As of this date, the watch appears fully functional. There are no scratches on the mineral glass crystal. The stainless steel case/caseback and buttons appear nearly perfect. However, there are a few small (very minor) scratches (that are hardly visible) on the plastic bezel above the '200m' marking. The incandescent display light works. The watchband looks new, with the suppleness of a quality band, and is Japanese made (as is the watchcase and movement). The original genuine Seiko instruction manual is included as well as a presentation box. Note that a copy of the page describing the timepiece in the 1998 Seiko USA catalog has been included for a description of the associated functions. This is a dive watch designed for serious divers. Seiko made this watch for about 12-years. The watch has been stored in a safe in darkness for years in a controlled temperature/humidity smoke-free environment. It has been minimally handled. The LCD readout, the watch face and markers are bright and clearly visible. Except for the catalog page, all photos of the timepiece are actual. This item is difficult, and getting harder to find in this condition.The watch is shipped in a sealed plastic bag. If the bag is opened, and the watch is tampered with, worn, or otherwise used/handled or damaged, it is not returnable. It is best that you are familiar with this timepiece (as it is quite sophisticated) and it is what you have been seeking. Insurance is required, period.
