Description
Segway i180 You are bidding on a Segway® Personal Transporter (PT), the i180 model, Midnight Blue in color, with a set of Lithium-ion batteries. We purchased this brand new from Segway, Inc. in May 2005. The Lithium-ion batteries weren't installed until November 2005. It was mostly retired from service in October 2006, so it has had little use since then. The batteries appear to hold a full charge and should be able to travel the expected range of about 20 miles for Lithium-ion batteries. It comes with the three standard black, yellow, and red keys, but also comes with two extra keys: orange, with the turning rate of yellow, and the speed of red; and a green key, with the turning rate of black and a maximum speed of 3 MPH. When turned on with the faster keys, this Segway can travel at 12.5 MPH. The ownership package is included--the manuals, instructional video, and tools. This Segway has had its software upgrade. It is in excellent condition, no broken parts, a working kickstand, and has an estimated 500 to 1000 miles of usage, based on tire tread wear--this model does not have an odometer. See the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on our website: SEGWOW.COM to find the answers to many questions you may have about the Segway. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an i180 from a well established Segway business. We're in our fifth year of being in the Segway business in the Los Angeles area. Mentions of us can be found in the AAA Tour Book, Fodor's, Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau, LA Times, USA Today, About, Gadling, SoloTravelPortal, @LA, LA.com, San Francisco Chronicle, American Way Magazine, and Segway Guided Tours, among others. We may not have had much activity yet on eBay, but we did join eBay in 2003. Our YouTube channel, where our videos are hosted, started in 2006. Visit our website for more about what we do. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call and ask. Click on any picture to open an album in a new window We encourage you to take a tour with us and request this specific Segway be brought out, which is #8. You'll have a chance to ride it for two hours, learning how to ride a Segway and having some fun in the process, yet you'll be under no obligation whatsoever to buy it. Our standard tour rates apply, but if you end up purchasing it, we will deduct the cost of the tour from the purchase price. The i180 is considered generation one and is no longer available for sale from Segway. This model Segway has some advantages over generation two models. Some people require or prefer one or more of the specific features that a generation one Segway offers. Click here for details on the differences between a generation one and a generation two Segway. A clamp is visible in the pictures in the middle of the handle, which makes it easier and faster to change the handle height. It also prevents the handle from slipping downward and makes for a great spot to hang certain cargo; it will be included for free. Shipping and handling is free to any continental U.S. destination, which includes full insurance coverage. If you can pick it up in Los Angeles, there is also no shipping charge and you'll have a free training session! This Segway is not being offered for shipment outside of the continental U.S. Below are two videos of this Segway, our #8 We're selling more Segways right now on eBay!
