From the point to the guard hilt, there is a beveled angle on the top & bottom cutting edges, providing more versatility on both edges. Bottom cutting blade extends almost entire length of the blade for a longer cutting area. In front of the guard hilt is a flat forefinger notch that will not cut your finger. This allows better forefinger positioning for better control for pairing with the knife in the back direction. Top front has a serrated edge for scaling fish, sawing, scraping, & other uses. Top back area of blade in front of guard hilt is not as sharp as the bottom & is used for paring. Guard hilt is fabricated from the same stainless steel to match the strength & corrosion resistance of the blade.
