Description
Vehicle Description Designed by Virgil Exner, famous for his automotive designs for Chrysler Corporation in the 60's and his boat designs for Riva of Italy and Buehler Turbocraft, pioneers in jet powered boats. ( see http://www.madle.org/exnrjr.htm ). This "Bar Harbour" model bears a striking resemblence to Mr Exners design of the 1966 Dodge Charger. Note the unique gullwing doors in the roof. She is powered by an original Chrysler Marine 426 cu. in. wedge V8 engine, coupled to a Hamilton 3 stage turbine jet pump. Originally built by Buehler Turbocraft Corporation, of Indianapolis, Indiana, this was their largest model and only seven were ever built. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE NOW KNOWN TO EXIST TODAY. It was originally imported into Canada for EXPO 67. Found in 2005, she has undergone a complete "bottom up" restoration to original condition. Comes with new custom built trailer and spare turbine pump. This is a real showboat and head turner on the water and should not be considered a daily driver. There is no other sound like a Buehler. Restoration cost was over $40,000 excluding labour. I would consider a trade. For more info and pics, email. Buyer to arrange and pay for cost of pickup or shipping. mailto:willardco@rogers.com
