An untreated canvas tent will shrink 10-12% which will require you to continually cut down your internal frame. If you don't cut down the frame you will have strain on the seams or zippers which will cause seam and zipper failure. After purchasing an untreated canvas tent and you apply water protection (Thompson Sealer or other after market products) or fire protection you will seal the pores of the woven canvas. The canvas can no longer breathe and you will have condensation inside your tent like a nylon or other synthetic tent. If tent is shipped to Idaho, Idaho's state sales tax will be required.
