They were taken by a regular English traveller to Southern Germany, Austria & Switzerland in the 1920's and 1930's and stand out particularly not just for their early use of Colour and very good state of preservation but also for the professional and technical artistry of the photographer.  This picture taken in 1927 shows a wonderful Alpine backdrop superbly and crisply captured.
