It has an on/off toggle for power and another switch that controls the Horizontal Oscillation, Vertical & Horizontal Oscillation or no Oscillation at all. This is an oldie but goodie tennis ball machine. I recently replaced the detent ring which is the only part that goes bad from dry rot on these machines. It is the rubber bladder that holds the ball before it shoots it out. Works Great. This is probably the 1st machine they made that would go up and down - oscillate back and forth at the same time.
