Description
THIS IS THE BEST DEAL GOING ON A PAIR OF BOOTS OF THIS QUALITY AND VIRTUALLY BRAND NEW CONDITION Description The Nepal Extreme is a mountaineering boot made by La Sportiva. It has an average rating of 5 stars (out of 5), based on 8 user reviews. Here's what other sites are saying: From REI:"These insulated and burly mountaineering boots are built for high-altitude, cold-weather climbing on mixed snow and ice. Expedition-worthy, silicone-impregnated, 3.2mm premium leather uppers offer the finest in natural breathability and waterproof durability. High-rise sticky rubber rand stands up to rock abrasion and crampon wear. Feet-warming, hydrophobic and fast-drying Thinsulate® insulation throughout protects from the constant cold of extreme altitude. HDPE plastic midsoles provide mountaineering stiffness and stay strong in extreme cold while eliminating the weight and chill of a steel shank. Roller lacing system, locking D-rings and lace loops allow for effortless on and off even with gloves on. Patented EZ flex and EZ Volume Adjust provide a comfortable custom fit to almost any foot. Durable, high-traction, Vibram® lug soles are step-in crampon compatible." From Moosejaw:"The Nepal Extreme has a triple laminate Synergy lining with 200g 3M Thinsulate for increased warmth at high altitude and in extreme cold. The 3.2+mm silicone impregnated Idro-Perwanger roughout leather with increased coverage sticky rubber rands stands up to scraping talus and crampon abuse. The new HP3 midsole and Vibram lug sole is step-in crampon compatible and patented EZ System components EZ Flex and EZ Volume Adjust allow the boot to fit almost any foot. The EZ Roller Lacing System, including EZ Lock D-Rings and EZ Out lace loop make getting in and out of the boot effortless. Upper: 3.2+mm Idro-Perwanger Roughout Leather Construction: Board Lasted Last: Nepal Lining: Synergy -PTFE/200g Thinsulate /3-bar knit Sole: Vibram Montagna Midsole: 8-9mm HP3 , suitable for crampons Insole: 9mm Ibi-Thermo Weight: 4 lbs. 15 oz." Men's Nepal ExtremeReviewed by Martin K, Jan 17, 2006 "I am on my 2nd pair of Nepal Extremes and find them the perfect Alps or Scottish winter climbing boot. They fit great, take minimal bedding in, they're warm. The old style Vibram commando sole unit is the best of any boot I have ever used. On cold winter, the lack of a Gore-Tex lining is good as well, makes the boot better-breathing. Brilliant boots, buy some!" Men's Nepal ExtremeReviewed by Rob Means, Sep 06, 2005 "There is no route I would not attempt in these alpinist's dream boots. The break in was short, very short. The fit was perfect in about ten minutes of fiddling with the system. There is only one drawback to these boots: It is a profound mistake for a typical dirtbag climber to try these on as there is no way to resist their supple beauty and function; money will leak out of every pocket until there is none left." This is size 42, regular (medium) width. These boots are in phenomenal shape. I've worn them about a half dozen times. They've been worn so few times they still actually need to be broken in. The Nepal Extreme is warm, comfortable, versitle, and very durable. I got these boots a few years ago when I was working at a gear store. These retail for over $400. If this is your size, you wont find a a better deal out there. I moved away from the mountains and am unloading some extra gear. Just to eleviate any confusion, these are not the newest EVO version. Let me know if you have any other questions.
