Description
Vehicle Description Offering for bids is this beautifully restored 1973 classic 26 foot wooden Lyman boat. This boat was manufactured near the end of the Lyman wooden boat line and is called a Cruisette. Completely taken apart as the pictures show and restored to the tune of $ 48,000 by St. Lawrence Restoration in Clayton N.Y. in 2006. This boat has been used 6 times since the restoration. The restoration included a new bottom including keel, ribs and lapstrake. New flooring, batteries and battery switch. Also included was the top and new paint and varnish. This boat has the following accessories: refrigerator, small sink, dinnete, new head (never used),forward cuddy cabin,(new) lowerance #337 color GPS fish finder ($900),(new) marine radio (not installed),New signal kit and distress flags. The engine is a 270 crusader ( 350 hp ) and when it was taken out of the boat at the time of the restoration it was tuned-up with a oil change and painted. The gas and water tanks were checked out and were found in satisfactory condition. After the boat was launched and after a couple of rides it was determined that the boat was running hot so the St. Lawrence restoration mechanic solved the overheating problem and also replaced the headgaskets and lapped a few valves to seat better. The engine has ran excellent since those repairs. The boat cushions are original and in excellent condition except one that is seperating at the corner on one side and the other side. The new owner may want to have that one repaired.Once after the boat was in the water again the owner decided to have a new bilge pump and drain installed and the work was done by Wooden Boat Specialties in Alexandria Bay,N.Y.due to the full schedule of work at St Lawrence Restoration. Of course I will try my best to answer any questions or send a closer version of a pic requested if needed and if I can do it. Pics in the description were all compiled on a photo album page by the restorers. The pics are out of order so please understand. This boat is still covered and on land and still winterized. If seriously interested we will launch and ready the boat for a test drive for a $ 50.00 fee which is refundable only if a purchase of the boat is made. This boat is being offered at this exceptionally low price because of a illness in the family. A deposit of $ 5,000 in a certified bank cashiers check is required from the winning bidder to be received by seller within 7 days of the end of the auction with the balance due 14 days from the end of the auction. The buy it now price is a $20,000 + savings.A Bank Cashiers check or cash in person are the two forms of payment needed for this auction. The check will go under a 14 day waiting period before release of the registration and boat.Transportation and shipping for this boat will be the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. There is no trailer for this boat. I will try to assist in any way possible. It is beautiful here in the 1000 Islands right now so plan a trip and come see and drive this beauty. Information on accomodations in the area is available through this seller or the Clayton Chamber of Commerce website http://www.1000islands-clayton.com/ also here is a website about the history of the 1000 Islands also with area info. http://members.tripod.com/~Oliver_Kilian/1000islands/IsIn6-Recreation/recreation.htm#Recreation%20in%20the%20Thousand%20Islands.
