So, let's take a look at what you are buying:Dimensions:Overall Length   25 Inches      "Blade" Length   17.5 InchesThickness    0.4 Inch            Weight  7 oz (200g) Approx.There are many things that set these swords apart from others on the market. The first is the design of the sword. Not only will you not be able to find this "Pulang" design on the internet there's a lot of skill gone into their construction. The blade has two edges running through the center of both sides. Many training Swords on the market are flat - or just have on one side. The pommel is also carved in the traditional "cockatoo" style and is great for using as a weapon as well. In GM Yuli's Bahad Zubu Kali a lot of emphasis is placed on "squeezing" the blade to change the edge. You can see that this training blade tapers at the bottom (by the decorative band) to allow the twisting of the blade. This "neck" is also used to arms and collar bones to devastating effect.The type of wood used will also help your training. Frequently training swords are made from exotic hardwoods such as Bahi, Molave and Kamagong. Whilst these swords make great display pieces they aren't as good as these "Tanguile Wood" ones for training. The reason for this is that the wood is quite brittle so they're made heavy to compensate for this. I wouldn't like to drop my heavywood knives and swords on the ground a lot.
