She has classic lines and has commonly been called the the pirate ship. She has been all over the pacific and remains well outfitted for cruising. In the time I've owned the boat, 12 years, She has never been plugged into shore power. She has never needed it since she has a power house on board with solar and wind generator keeping the batteries full all the time.Cruising gear includes wind vane, raytheon autohelm, wind generator, solar panel, HF ICOM single sideband radio, Standard VHF, dingy davit, Propane stove, electric windlass 3 anchors with 250 ft of chain 5/8 chain rode and 250 ft of line. being a ketch she holds 4 sails at a time and she has 2 sets of sails for cruising. Boat was hauled every 4 years for fresh bottom paint and 12 years ago was stripped to the teak and smith brothers Penetrating epoxy used to make the teak last for ever. It was like new when stripped all the way down to the teak and I imagine it will be like new for the next 200 years or more with the penetrating Epoxy treatment.I sailed it thru a 6 day tropical storm when I first purchased it in 1996 and she stood up well to 50ft plus waves in pounding seas for entire duration. These waves were so big that after surfing down the face of them and hitting the trough at about 18 knots of speed the boat would go under water and then resurface like a fishing bobber. We just held on for dear life and ran with the storm with a small storm jib. This boat will take good care of its owner in any conditions.She carries 75 gal of Diesel and 250 gal of water. Perkins 4-108 Diesel motor (English made) awesome engine! This motor looks rough but has looked this way since I've owned it over 12 years and has never given me problems. If you know anything about this motor it is one of the best. There were 12 sea witches built completely of teak by American Marine works and this was Hull number one of the 12. Choy Lee built 4 or 5 of teak. Teak as you may know is very oily wood and therefore it does not shrink like other wooden boats, Teak hulled boats are extremely rare to find but here is perfect Teak Hull bronze fastened and in new condtion. She is like a fiberglass hull with out the risk of blisters.She is ready to sail anywhere in the world and has a full tank of fuel. She could use a little cosmetic elbow grease if you wanted to make her teak shine but I've kept the teak grey and have used her as a real cruiser the entire time I've owned her. The compass is a 6" kelvin white bronze case with glass dome...(beautiful). Bronze port holes,  Sewing machine, Sea Anchor or sea drogue, bosun's chair, huge bag of teak blocks (spares), custom wind scoops, life jackets, propane heater, SS seaward propane stove, hatches and sails all have black sunbrella covers, black port hole curtains, plenty of storage, manual pumping head, pressurized water system with filtration to the sink, lots of spares for just about everything on board, and tons of stainless hardware. She is ready to provision with food and hit the high seas. Extras sails The replacement value of this boat is estimated at over 400K The 8X8 sold teak keelsome is amazing. Hull is one inch and seven eights thick and is solid as the day she was laid. Bronze fasteners are like new. Deck is in good shape. The keelsome will amaze you, you will never see another Chunk of solid teak like this in your life. It has a head and shower indoor shower as well as outside deck shower. There is no heater installed currently but it comes with a propane heater that can be installed. Also does not have a holding tank installed but again comes with all appropriate gear to install including the tank.
