Description
This is a 1972 Gandy, my mother bought it new for my father and I, when I was 12, we played alot of pool at the local pool hall and she thought this was an excellent gift for us at Christmas, she was right. The table is in very good shape. Actually it's the best table I've ever played on, bar none and when I am in a position to have another this is exactly what I'm going to get again. My mother worked for a jewlery company that sold Gandy's and she had this custom ordered for my father and I. The slate is in excellent condition. The cushions are as full of bounce as the day we got it, much better than any table I've ever played on anywhere. The balls are original, we took very good care of this table, it also comes with the wall rack for the balls and cues. I know the pictures don't do justice, they are the only ones I have and it is disassembled now and in storage, wasn't planning on leaving it in storage long originally. I got married and between us, we had 2 houses and they were full, no room for it in our new house and I hate for it to sit in storage, I've done that before and stuff got ruined and I'd rather sell it then let it sit and have that happen to it. It's an 8 foot table, with unforgiving cushions (no clipping the cushion as you knock a ball in the pocket, it'll be back out in the middle of the table), so playing on this one for an hour or so, then going to a bar and playing on the little ones is a joke and you clean house. The only things wrong with the table besides a couple of small scratches (very small, wouldn't even mention except the bidder might not be able to look at it) that come from normal wear and tear over 30 plus years, is that on the corners there is a small piece of leather on a hard wire (about 1/16th of an inch wide) that fits in the crack when placing the rails together for looks, has a few worn spots from leaning on it when shooting, easily fixed, but doesn't detract at all because it is so small. The other thing is on the flat foot piece on the pedestal, my stupid puppy several years ago nawed on it one day when teething, the dog is in one of the pictures and never did that again, a little sanding would remove that, but just never did it, because it isn't that bad, unless you stood several feet away and looked down at it with good light you wouldn't notice it. Anyway, that's about it, you'll have to pick up as I wouldn't want to ship the slate for fear it might get damaged, it is ready to be picked up as it is disassembled. Feel free to email me any questions. I hate to let it go, but have to face reality, I'm paying $600 a year to store it (part my wife doesn't like...lol) and storage for a few years could ruin it. If you get this table you won't be disappointed. Item must be paid for and picked up within 7 days. Arrangements for pickup can be made pretty easily as I work about 5 minutes from the items location. $500 paypal payment rquired within 24 hours of purchase. Cashiers check, money order from united states postal service or cash at pickup unless paid completely on pay pal.
